ECS Staff Team Participates in Point-in-Time Homeless Count

Very early last Friday morning, from 3:30-7:00am, a team of ECS staff (pictured above) joined over 1,000 other volunteers to count homeless individuals on the streets and in shelters throughout the San Diego region as part of the  WeALLCount "Point-in-Time" Homeless Count coordinated by the Regional Task Force on the Homeless.

This count takes place each year in February and provides demographics for the homeless population in our area - how many, who, where, why, and more. This data is reported to the Federal government and used to help determine funding for homeless programs, enabling our our region to implement services and find solutions that enable individuals and families to receive support and become housed again.

Last year, 250 programs run by 45 agencies partnered with the Regional Task Force to make this happen; they counted and gathered information about 8,506 homeless individuals.
