Helping our Community

We started the summer by helping the Clay County Animal Care and Control center try to raise money by winning the Rachel Ray 100K Challenge. They are now in the second half of the challenge and still need our help! Here is how you can help them achieve their goal.

Clay County Animal Care and Control is winding up their attempt to win the ASPCA $100K Challenge which ends August 31st.  One of the last pieces of the challenge is online voting for the Community Engagement award which has a $25,000 grant.  All 50 shelters in the competition will be vying for the top 3 spots in the online voting.  You can help CCACC by voting online once daily from noon August 15th - August 31st at  www.votetosavelives.org.  This is a Facebook application, so you must have a Facebook account to vote and need to like CCACC on Facebook first at  www.facebook.com/ClayCtyAnimals.  We should all be proud of everything that our small county animal control has accomplished this summer in their efforts to make improvements and save lives.  Since June 1st, they have saved 828 animals and are on their way to meet their goal of saving 1,000 lives this summer which has been a huge undertaking.  You can help them continue to save lives by simply voting once each day.

A "BIG" thank you to Lee Henry and the Master Gardeners for their time and dedication to the Heritage Garden in the Early Florida Village.

Fair Family News
Sad to report the passing of one of our Fair Family members today. DR. Bill Bazley passed away peacefully August 6, 2014 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Bill was a Patron Life member, former Chairman of the Board, and husband of our first Fair Manager. His leadership was vital to building our fair's
foundation for success. His passion for our fair was felt in his community contacts. We are grateful for his many hours of volunteer work. Bill will be truly missed!
