Social House is located in the oldest remaining home built circa 1892 on Main Street within the town's original Sixteen Squares in downtown Blacksburg.The wall murals inside Social House were created by painter Virginia McLaughlin at the age of 91 and her son Salyer, great-aunt and cousin of the property owner, both of Frederick, Maryland. She has painted at George Washington's Mount Vernon estate and many other historic sites and private homes over a career as a painter spanning seven decades. The latest presentation of three one-person exhibitions highlights internationally recognized artists who reinvent and merge various disciplines, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and craft, through inventive uses of thread and fabric. This suite of exhibitions, titled "Threaded," features artists Shanique Smith, Angelo Filomeno, and Polly Apfelbaum. The exhibitions run until April 12.

Historic Smithfield Plantation
Matinee at the MuseumJoin Historic Smithfield Plantation for Sunday showings of historically inspired movies relevant to the Preston Family. Take Back the Night Rally and March
Thursday March 26- This 26th annual rally and march raises awareness of gender-based violence, shares resources available locally, and gives individuals tools to help create positive change. Enjoy pre-rally music at 6:30 pm; the rally begins at 7 pm. People of all genders and ages are encouraged to participate, either as individuals or as part of a group, in the rally and march through Virginia Tech and Downtown Blacksburg. Organizations are invited to bring signs or a group banner. Raise your voice to help lessen violence in our community. Together we'll Take Back the Night!
