A Message About the Senior Play

Dear Parents,

On the last day of school, the seniors will be performing their senior play, which they wrote and directed. It is a tragedy and as such ends badly for the main character. While the tone of the play is serious, the depiction of a fall from fame is well done. Because there is an implication that the main character makes poor choices that lead to his death, it seems important for students to have time to process the plot with the guidance of a teacher. We have built that processing into our final day after the play. Here is a link to more detail about the plot and processing that will occur.

Student Parking 2015-16

There are still open parking spaces for student parking for the 2015/2016 school year. If your student is planning on driving to school please make sure that your student permit formis turned in at the front office by May 20th. The remaining student permit tags will be given out on a first come first served basis. We expect that all Arete Prep student drivers park on the Arete campus and are parked in designated student zones. Locker Clean-Out

All student lockers must be completely empty by the end of the school day on Tuesday, May 19. Locks are to be left inside the clean lockers. Please remind your student to bring only what they will need for testing on Wednesday and Thursday.

Yearbook Distribution

Student yearbooks will be distributed Tuesday afternoon in the gym. If you forgot to purchase one, there a a few extras that will be sold in the front office starting Wednesday morning. They will be distributed on a first come, first served basis for $65.

BBQ Lunch & Yearbook Signing

ALL Arete Students and their parents are invited to a $5 BBQ sandwich lunch after school is out. We will be joining Archway students and their families who were released earlier at 11:45. This activity is sponsored by our future senior class of 2016 and all proceeds will go towards the Senior class trip to Washington DC next year.

Fingerprinting at BBQ

Great Hearts will be doing fingerprinting on campus during the Last Chance BBQ on Thursday, May 21st from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. All volunteers at the school- whether helping with lunch, reading groups, or going on field trips- must be fingerprint cleared by Great Hearts. This is a great opportunity to get fingerprinted while you are already on campus enjoying a fantastic BBQ lunch!

H.S. Student Life Night After BBQ

High School Student Life night will follow directly after the family BBQ. Please join us for an afternoon of games and food as we say farewell to the 2015 Seniors. This event will be hosted by the Arete Prep Student Life Team and Senior Trip Fundraising Committee! Food pre-order forms can be found here.

SRP Video Complete

SRP generously provided a grant to the Arete Prep science department this year and filmed a video in January to illustrate its usage. The video is now up and can be accessed here. Thank you to Ms. Kienenberger for procuring this and many other grants for the school!

Summer Programs

Arete Prep's Summer Program registration is now open! This year we will be offering a variety Academic and Sports programs to keep your student engaged and prepared for the upcoming school year.

Academic Summer School

This year's course offerings include both core and supplemental classes. Whether your student needs to brush up on the basics like Lit/Comp, Mathematics, Latin, or study skills, or if they just want to learn about Archaeology, the Far East, or learn to play strings, we have classes for you!
