The 2015 golf season has officially started with a fabulous Kickoff Champagne Brunch, held last Saturday the 7th of February, in the Pavilion of our new home course, Haggin Oaks. We had 90 enthusiastic women in attendance, and the rain held off for the members who played 9 holes on the MacKenzie course, or who took advantage of the discount on merchandise at the Super Shop, after the brunch.
We held drawings for Golf Course rounds, and other donated items to benefit our charities, and although the official number is not quite in, we netted ~ $1700! Thank you to all of you who participated.
Everyone is so impressed with the number of golf events, education opportunities, orientations and socials scheduled for this season, so make sure you check the eBlast and website, and mark your calendars so you do not miss out. I challenge you, to go over all the listings, and dare you to find something that does not fit your schedule and ability. When you see the following women, please let each of them know how much you appreciate all their hard work and dedication that goes into making this a stellar year for us all: Pam Katros-Events; Fern Lukka-Membership; Nancy Lyons-Member Services; Barbara Richards- Finance; Del Sayles-Owen-Golf Programs and Services;

Everyone was so excited, when Tammy Pinnick made the announcement, at the Kickoff, that she signed Markstein Beverage Co. as an Eagle Sponsor! Denise Pulver, representing Markstein, and a new member, unveiled a beautiful banner that will be displayed at our tournaments.
February is National Women's Heart month, and EWGA "I Heart Golf Month". Please have your blood pressure (BP) checked, and remember the number 120/80. Your blood pressure should be at or below that number. You can lower your BP, just like you can lower your handicap, by proper diet and exercise. Add the 120 to the 80 to get 200, and that is the minimum number of minutes per week we should each be getting of moderate exercise. That translates to 30 minutes every day.
I am very excited about this golf season, and look forward to seeing you at many of the events.

Start the season with a solid foundation. This comprehensive 60-minute session uses video analysis and motion measurement technology to view and quantify the motions of your swing, showing you exactly what needs work. This is the standard GolfTEC full evaluation, which is a $150 value. The EWGA member price is only $99. If you decide to continue with classes, GolfTEC will execute the evaluation for $1 and give you the normal 10% EWGA discount. The purchase of credits would have to be the night of the evaluation.

This class is designed to introduce brand new golfers to the culture, skills, and fun of golf.
