Caol Ila
Well it's been a while since our last newsletter my friends, I know we've seen most of you since then. Our last whisky pairing was in September with George Grant of Glenfarclas. It was fantastic to see George again and sample some of Speyside's finest malts paired with local charciterie.

A little over a week later, nothing to do with the whiskies though, I had a wee bit of brain surgery. Not to worry, all is well, just the reason why we got behind in our much sought after whisky pairing dinners. Whew, at least I can tick that one off my bucket list! I am curious as to who put that one on my list though. Allura? Anyway as I said all is well and thanks for the support and well wishes from everyone.

The summer and fall has treated us well here at The Kitchen, we now have over 650 whiskies on the shelves and another 100 to put up as soon as we get more shelf space. Another reno? Say it ain't so. Oh yes it is! Stay tuned for: The Whisky Vaults, coming soon to a Kitchen near you.

According to the new anti-spam law, and as always, anyone not wanting to receive our newsletter, not sure why you wouldn't want to keep up to date with everything here at The Kitchen,  you can opt out by using the un-subscribe link at the bottom of this email. As well you can opt in here

Whisky dinner Tuesday, December 9 at 7pm

On Tuesday December 9th we will be hosting a whisky pairing dinner with Roberto Roberti of Barrica Wine & Spirits. Roberto has an impresive whisky portfolio that includes: Kilchoman, Tullibardine, Benromach, Springbank and the Highland Queen blends. What an impressive distillery line up!

Roberto has been involved in the Vancouver Spirits industry since the late 90's and is quite the entertaining fellow. After striking out on his own, this fast talking well respected Venezualian was approached by a number of distilleries to carry their brands. How do say no to whisky?

Located on Rockside Farm and established in 2005, Kilchoman is Islay's newest and smallest distillery. Owner Anthony Wills has done a fabulous job in a short amount of time. Of all the distilleries on Islay Kilchoman is definately in my top 7.

Established in 1949, Tullibardine is the main component to the Highland Queen blends. They have an impressive line up of single malts and are very progressive with their utiliziation of various wine casks in their barrelling program.

Benromach, another relatively new distillery being founded in 1898, in Speyside. Benromach is a small distillery owned by one of my favorite independant bottlers Gordon & Macphail.

The stalwart Campbeltown distillery; Springbank, rounds out our tasting. Established in 1828 Springbank was the lone Campbeltown survivor and is one of the oldest family owned distilleries in Scotland.

Please join us for our last Whisky Pairing dinner of 2014!

As always these dinners sell out very quickly.

Please make arrangements for a safe ride home!

The cost for this event is only $80 including gst and gratuity and is open to only 25 people! click here to register
