Alumni Spotlight
|
Last summer, the Alumni Office reached out asking Bearcats to "Share Your Story." Nearly 250 Saint Vincent stories were submitted.
Robert C. Galloway, C'63
As the first college graduate in my family, I appreciate the opportunities I had as an SVC student. My father died when I was 9, and I had three younger siblings. I attended Catholic schools and Sister Paulina approached a number of seniors to determine our plans after high school. She encouraged us to enroll at college - Saint Vincent, Seton Hill, Wheeling Jesuit, Dayton and others. Four of us were admitted to SVC. The Benedictines exemplified "Ora et Labora" and enriched our understanding of the real world. My development in accounting and understanding of business and philosophy enabled me to achieve many things. I am a father to four boys and married to a Seton Hill grad. I have been active in Boy Scouts and many fraternal, social, church and business organizations. My time at SVC broadened me to achieve more than I expected in the last 50 years.
