"The only limits are the limits you set for yourself."
STAR Rehab uses the GHS with SCI, BI and amputee clients STAR Rehab's concept is that community re-integration is an important component to the recovery process. Its program serves to re-connect individuals into a societal setting through a fully accessible, 225,000 sq.ft. community-based health club

Founder Sophia Bong explains "I feel there is a missing step after traditional inpatient therapy. Too many of my clients were consuming their days with various medical appointments, but had lost touch with their personal active life they had prior to injury.

"I wanted to create an atmosphere where individuals are physically and emotionally empowered with strength and purpose. Integration is a large part of that progress. Because our services are offered in a blended atmosphere, the general population sees what the disabled community can do and focuses on their ability rather than their disability."
An intense therapy, adaptive sport & recreation-training clinic
STAR's program focuses on getting your life back   Specializing in SCI, spinal fractures, amputated limbs, mild TBI, and orthopedic related impairments

STAR's team includes physical therapy, massage & manual therapy, nutritional counseling and peer mentoring. The goal: get individuals back into action again, doing the sports, hobbies and activities they once loved.
Why STAR Rehab acquired the Gait Harness System as one of their 1st equipment pieces
Using the GHSII indoors and outdoors Flexibility and ease of use, stability, client comfort & safety, adaptable to outdoor enriched environments

STAR clinicians report that the ability to tailor the GHSII for a client as they progress and gain strength is a key value feature. Clinicians appreciate the GHSII is light and easy to maneuver, stable, secure, and also allows staff to access the client's lower extremities to provide assistance for limb advancement or foot placements.

Staff and clients appreciate the comfort of wearing the Gait Harness while using the GHSII. Clients report the Harness allows a greater freedom of movement as compared to other gait training devices, and yet a feeling of safety as they perform activities within the GHSII. Clinicians find the GHSII Harnesses are less bulky, and do not get in the way as they provide cueing and assistance during exercise.

Clients like facing the open side of the frame, stating the visual openness gives them a feeling of normalcy, as if they are doing more on their own. Clients also appreciate utilizing the GHSII to walk outside and enjoy the foliage color changes on STAR's outdoor paved track.
