Level Best Books Submissions Open

Submissions are open for Level Best Books thirteenth annual anthology of New England Crime Stories, which is as yet untitled.

Every year, Level Best publishes stories across the spectrum of mystery, thriller, suspense, capers, cons and paranormal from well-known authors to first publications. Stories in Level Best Books anthologies have won every major award in the mystery field.

Authors must be full or part-time residents of one of the six New England states. The deadline is April 30, 2015. Detailed submission guidelines are here.

Al Blanchard Award

If you submit to Level Best Books, you may cross-submit the same stor(ies) to the Al Blanchard contest, run annually by the New England Crime Bake committee.

Authors outside New England may also submit to the Al Blanchard Award contest, as long as their stories take place in New England.

Level Best Books publishes the Blanchard award-winning story regardless of the author's residence.

Detailed submission guidelines for the Al Blanchard Award are here.

Praise for Rogue Wave

We're always pleased to get good reviews, especially when they call out so many of our authors and stories.

"Readers of this anthology series can count on many amused chuckles. Crime and mystery writers, who spend months working on novels, seem to enjoy the playful, shorter form. The stories here are always energetic, often funny and full of wry attitude."
