Dear Animal Lovers, Advocates, Rescuers & Activists:
Happy Spring everyone!
As always, you have to take the good with the bad... Readers, the story of the Belgian horses below is pretty bad, but this kind of crap (though not always as extreme) happens all the time in our country too. With spring and summer coming, pull over on those roads, take a moment to get a good look at the animals in the fields. Many of them have slipper foot that needs attending. Then,
call Crimestoppers' Tattle Tails line... and your local news crew (ask for the assignment desk). Crimestoppers' mandate is to follow up on
every call... (the photo of the Belgian shows you what "slipper foot" is, if you've not seen it before>)

Meet 4 year old Big! This happy little guy is ready to wag his way into your heart. He is certainly a people lover, though he may not be suited for a home with
other dogs. If you have been looking for a solo furry companion with a big heart, Big may be the perfect dog for you!
For more information about Big and how to adopt him,
please email Humane Society of Durham Region at: [email protected]
DOG BEDS AND BLANKETS NEEDED!
We are currently very low on blankets and dog beds! If you have any to spare that a homeless dog could use then please drop them
off at DUNDAS STREET EAST ANIMAL HOSPITAL located at 966 Dundas Street, East, Mississauga (Dundas & Tomkin)
We currently have a few larger breed dogs who are seniors that could use a good comfy bed also!
We will also accept crates and small breed carriers.
PLEASE SHARE & HELP RESCUES ON THEIR JOURNEY!!! (Ed note, sorry, I didn't note who the rescue was...)

Build a Stronger Body on a Plant-Based Diet:
The School of Kinesiology, Western Ontario Vegan Society, King's Animal Rights Club, and the University Students' Council would like to invite you to join us for an inspiring evening with Robert Cheeke,
founder and president of Vegan Bodybuilding and Fitness,
best-selling author, and
world-renowned motivational speaker.
This event will take place on Friday, March 27th at 7pm in Social Science Centre 2050 at Western University, London, Ontario.
All animals are harmed when they are treated as the property of others instead of being respected as the sentient individuals they truly are. Robert's talk will challenge this mindset, emphasize the importance of respecting animals, and show that you do not need to eat animals to be healthy, strong, and fit. Robert delivers a very motivational and informative talk about burning fat, building muscle, and achieving your personal goals on a whole foods plant-based diet.
This event is free and open to the public.
There will be a Q&A, book signing and refreshments afterwards.

Check out the vegetarian calculator (thanks These Glass Walls for posting) and find out how many animals you've saved. You can do it by number of months, or number of years -- a powerful affirmation for those choosing a compassionate lifestyle: http://vegetariancalculator.com |
Folks, I believe we are at the tipping point for animal rights. It is amazing how social media is "outing" the bad guys, and promoting the good. Keep the faith! Keep sharing! Thank you Gentle Giants for securing those dear horses... m.
