Community Updates

Our first Wake Up, Pierce! was a big success! Chamber members heard community updates from the Pierce County Chamber, Georgia House of Representatives/Chad Nimmer, PC School System/LaVance Gay, Team 25/Brian Fey, the City of Blackshear's Main Street Program/Tommy Lowmon, City of Blackshear/Jerry Hollis, Blackshear Police Department/Chris Wright, PC Economic Development Authority/Matt Carter, and the Pierce County Board of Commissioners/Paul Christian. We have some exciting opportunities and challenges coming our way, Pierce County. Let's be ready! We hope to see YOU at the next Wake Up, Pierce!  
Georgia Chamber Federation
New Member Service

Small business is the driving force of jobs in Georgia and is part of the core constituency of the Georgia Chamber's grassroots efforts. Our overall success in the global marketplace is directly tied to the state's ability to foster a climate favorable to small business - a sector that makes up almost 98% of registered Georgia companies.

 

The Georgia Chamber has introduced the Georgia Chamber Federation, and we have joined this alliance to ensure the voice of our small business sector is heard with minimal investment and maximum impact. Through the Georgia Chamber Federation, any business with 10 or fewer full time employees who is a member of the Pierce County Chamber of Commerce will receive free membership into the Georgia Chamber of Commerce - a $500 value to you. Through our participation in the Federation, our members have increased influence in the state legislature and access to timely information, resources and opportunities. This partnership aims to empower small businesses and grow the voice of business at the local, state and federal levels. Be on the lookout for more information and email updates.

Fall Block Party
November 20th

All Chamber members and their families are invited to the Fall Block Party to be held in the Northwest block of Central Ave. (McDonalds Corp. block) Thursday, Nov. 20, 5-7 PM.

 

Treat your children to a hot dog and funnel cake, receive member-only discounts and goodies at participating businesses, and enjoy the sensational singing duo, Beau+Luci. At 6 PM, we will be celebrating the official Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening of Beau+Luci's local recording studio in downtown Blackshear! Kick-off the holiday season with us!

December Business After Hours

Make plans to attend the Chamber's December Business After Hours. PrimeSouth Bank, located at 3473 U.S. 84, Blackshear, will be the host of our next BAH event on Thursday, Dec. 11 from 5 to 7 PM. You will have the opportunity to learn about PrimeSouth's new programs and services, enjoy scrumptious food and beverages, and network with your peers. "Christmas on the Satilla" is the theme of this year's Christmas Parade being held Monday, Dec. 8th. Early registration is FREE, so contact the Chamber today to get registered. Let us know if you want to be a part of the best Christmas Parade in southeast Georgia!
Baking Contests
The Chamber, along with our sponsor, Clough Pecan, is hosting the pecan pie and pecan dessert contests. If you think you make the best pecan desserts in all of South Georgia, contact the Chamber to enter. You could win cash prizes and braggin' rights at this year's Pecan Fest, Nov. 8th in the Blackshear City Park.
