Kay Marquet of Kay Marquet Associates ioins best selling author Montgomery Taylor in co-authoring the book Happy & Secure in Sonoma County. In the book, Montgomery Taylor collaborated with successful individuals from diverse fields. Kay added her chapter, "Making Dreams Come True" which shares how to process your philanthropic dreams and make them a reality.
Kris Putnam-Walkerly of Putnam Consulting Group had her article "Unlikely Allies Unite for Policy Win" published in the Grants Managers Network's journal, GMNsights.
Informing Change seeks funders interested in large scale systems change for a conversation for funders with large-scale systems change expert, Steve Waddell, on 5/21/15 at 10am. The meeting's purpose is to share information about an initiative to catalyze systems change in areas such as the environment, health care, poverty and inequity, food security, and sustainable energy. Last month, the Jim Joseph Foundation circulated a case study by Informing Change and thought piece, co-authored by president Ellen Irie, on the Jewish Teen Education and Engagement Funder Collaborative, a group of 15 national and local funders investing in community-based Jewish teen education initiatives. The thought piece outlines the Collaborative's elements of success, while the case study takes a closer look at the Collaborative's origins, how members benefit and indications of its early success.
FMA Founder and CEO Hilda Polanco has been invited to join the NYC Human Services Council's new commission to examine the recent rash of closures among high-profile nonprofit human services providers. The commission will review financial and operational details in several of the closures and produce recommendations for nonprofit leaders, boards, and government and foundation funders.
