The Salon, March 15, 2014
(application deadline February 14)

Now in it's sixth year, the Salon is a quarterly performing arts showcase. Ten Bay Area artists of various disciplines are offered ten free hours of studio space to play, take risks, explore, and collaborate. Each artist or group shares five minutes at this Saturday evening art extravaganza. Comfy couches, free snacks, cheap cash bar, and an eclectic line-up make for one of the best performance viewing experiences in town. Stay and shake it at the Salon's raucous post-showcase party!

Mark your calendars for the 2014 LEVYdance Summer Intensive to be held June 9-14 at LEVYstudio in San Francisco. This year's Summer Intensive includes a performance opportunity for participants.

Comfort Zone 
Interactive exhibit at the Exploratorium
Now through June 2014
 
 
The Exploratorium and Benjamin Levy explore the nuances of social boundaries with 
Comfort Zone, a new participatory installation which integrates choreography into a virtual, interactive experience, exploring themes of group dynamics, choice, and social boundaries. Comfort Zone invites visitors to explore these themes in a playful way, using their bodies, not their critical minds.   

The gallery surrounding Comfort Zone will be activated by the artists of LEVYdance every Thursday evening, 6-10pm, in January, 2014.
 

A LEVYdance World Premiere
SOAR
June 26-28, 2014
Z Space, San Francisco 
 
LEVYdance announces the launch of
Soar, a three year project that combines dance, theater, and film to conjure a world beyond reality.
 
The first presentation of Soar combines movement, music, and set elements to immerse the audience and performers together in a dream-like experience. A 'choose your own adventure' format moves audiences through multiple rooms, each revealing its own evocative landscape and scenario. Individual narratives are created as each audience member chooses how to proceed.
