SAVE THE DATE: AERO conference, June 26-29 at LIU/Post Campus, near New York City.
AERO conference site is now open for registration and workshop proposals!
We can't open up the food and housing yet for this year's AERO conference until our contract with LIU/Post is finalized. But we can now take registrations and deposits for the early bird rate and can take applications for workshops and presentations. The conference will be June 26-29th. We have already arranged for Zo Neill Readhead, daughter of Summerhill School founder A.S. Neill and current head of the famous school to be our first keynote speaker.

You will hardly believe some of the things that are in the works for this year's conference. One is below!

Tesla Motors to offer AERO Conference Limo Service!

One of the partners for this year's AERO conference, Tesla Motors, will be doing the limo service at the start of the AERO conference, bringing people from the train station to the conference site! Tesla which features all electric vehicles, and has a display store at Long Island's Roosevelt Field Mall, thought that is was appropriate for the company that features alternative technology to work with AERO, the organization that coordinates educational alternatives around the world. People may remember that Tesla was a partner with the TEDx in Norway that featured my talk.

NEW: Map of Alternative Colleges & Universities

Daniel Sage has completed a fourth map for AERO, of our higher education alternatives. These are colleges, universities and programs that take an experiential, learner-centered approach. Many of them are also advertisers and supporters of AERO featured in this newsletter and on our website. If you know of other higher education alternatives that should be AERO members, let us know! Reply to the newsletter or email [email protected].

Ten Education Resolutions for 2014 - Chris Mercogliano

1. That teachers will resolve to welcome every student (and I mean from the heart) every morning and then spend the day helping them to recognize and express their innate worthiness.

4. That schools will throw their prepackaged curriculums out the window and leave teachers and students free to invent learning generated by wonder and curiosity.

9. That schools-and especially preschools-will rediscover the developmental and educational value of organic, child-structured play.
