[millionday] first i am going to bring up some things that came out in world news today -- so first here we go - today a lot happened in Iraq -- but it is political and military of course the North of Iraq is secure and not having much problems but there is a lot going on in south

Just to keep the grey matter tuned up. If you're young and hip, this is still interesting. Where did "Piss Poor" come from? Interesting history. They used to use urine to tan animal skins, so families used to all pee in a pot. And then once it was full it was taken and sold to the tannery... If you had to do this to survive you were "Piss Poor". But worse than that were the really poor folk who couldn't even afford to buy a pot... They "didn't have a pot to piss in" and were the lowest of the low. ...

WMAwhite brought it in this morning [millionday] right -- it is very possible that the currency without the three zeros are being changed out or it could mean the lights are out but we will wait and see ...

[millionday] Kurdistan region 'Iraq',- Locals in Iraqi Kurdistan have found themselves unable to withdraw cash from their banks, despite the fact that they have enough in their accounts. It's a liquidity problem that recurs every year around this time. Some financial analysts suspect a plot and locals have started keeping their cash under the bed.

(Thank you Dinar Daily for sending this to Recaps to post) IQD4US from Dinar Daily Checks in with an RV progress report -- I just did my monthly review of the "status" , and I CAN say: that the deposit of Kurdistans money into the FUND will be from OIL sales, as part of that money is supposed to be used to pay back Kuwait. There is still money outstanding, and they are supposed to have transparency in their oil sales for the "country" - not just Bagdad. that the Tariff Law DID indeed go into effect, and surprisingly to me, they are "concerned" about the effect of the tax on cigarettes and alcohol. I am surprised because when the US Soldiers were there - alcohol was contraband because it was a "Muslim" country. (did you know that a fifth of Crown will fit nicely into a can of Coffee, and superglue will help keep the lid on during inspection? don't ask how I know).

Finally we have some news after several dry days: Iraq has met with US and both agree and Iraq has called for the immediate activation of the complete SFA The tariff and customs laws are activated as expected so they are now hustling to get all the ports ready and the budget through and get the rate to where it should be to have fair pricing for global trade. They are in action and the moment they actually begin trading they much has a new rate. The budget for 2014 is expected to be passed on Saturday BUT it is not necessary for the reality rate to be published. That will be done with data entry by CBI and show when it does. .... Read More
