AND GIVING IN 2013!

You opened the heavens and for the first time in over 10 years, MCCDC ended the year with a surplus
of over $20,000.

"Isn't that what faith is?  Walking right up to the edge of our present circumstance, closing our eyes, seeing the bright-red sparks of possibility dance beneath our lids, feeling the warm embrace of a God who wants ever greater and greater and greater things for us, whispering a silent prayer; then, we leap. And the heavens open."

                                ~Joshua Dubois

As I write this we are only into the third day of the new year.  Yet I cannot go another day without saying thank you for your stewardship in 2013. Through your faith and faithfulness you helped the heavens open through MCCDC.

The heavens opened as you helped MCCDC to be "One Church Growing from the Inside Out."  Internally, you helped to turn on the spiritual lights for many through supporting programming such as weekly and special worship, retreats, labyrinth walks, and book studies.  For others you helped keep the light on, literally, through support of compassionate giving.

Our growth was also outward.  Through your support MCCDC was able to reach out and serve through such opportunities as Pride, AIDS WALK 2013, Backpacks for Kids, the Blessing of the Animals, the Christmas Toy Drive, Kwanzaa and more.  Your love and support throughout the year reached a beautiful crescendo with the 2013 Christmas Concert, "A Homecoming Holiday."  The impact was both inside and outside.

Through your support, we are primed for a great year in 2014.  In 2013, there were some tough months for MCCDC financially.  Yet you helped us finish 2013 strong by making December a stellar month, one of our best ever.  Your love and support positions us to move into 2014 with continued commitment to life giving ministries and worship on the inside----and community and global impact beyond our walls.
