We Want You at the Haggin Golf EXPO! |
We need you to help out! It's fun, easy, lots of members to get to know, opportunities to shop deals, did I say fun? You need to do this and if you are a new member this is a wonderful opportunity to get to know your sisters!!!
We need help running the booth for 3 hour shifts between 8:30am and 5:30pm on all three days (Friday, April 24- Sunday, April 26). We hope get 3 people in the booth for each shift. If you can volunteer for any of these times (and feel free to sign up for more than one shift!), you'll enjoy your time there. During the slow times, you'll be able to check out the rest of the Expo! If you are planning on coming out to the Expo anyway, why not spend some time in the EWGA booth!!

Spring Fun League Play Started
by Vicki Philpott
|
Front L to R: Vicki Philpott, Chao Chen Back L to R: Sunny Mills, Linda Reid
The first of five play dates for the Spring Fun League was played at the MacKenzie Course at Haggin Oaks on Saturday, March 28th. Twenty-six members enjoyed a fun game in awesome weather. The game was created by Linda Reid and Vicki Philpott and called Four Games in One. The winning categories were low net overall, lowest totaled 3 pars, lowest totaled 4 pars and lowest totaled 5 pars. Prize amounts were based on PAR times the number of holes played. For instance, there were eight 4 pars so 8 holes x 4 par = $32, there were five 5 pars so 5 x 5 = $25, etc. Congratulations to the four winners! Net Overall Winner ($25) was Janet Cino with an awesome 65! Net 3 Par Winner ($15) was Linda Reid with an 11 - cinched with a net eagle on #6! Net 4 Par Winner ($32) was Marcia Whiting with a 28 (there were 8 four pars and she played them 4 under par!) Net 5 Par Winner ($25) was Amelie Gannon with an astounding 20! (She achieved net birdies on all 5 five pars and that's quite an achievement for anyone!) |
Home Course Play Certificates
|
Haggin Oaks, our new "home course" has generously provided a complimentary round of golf to every 2015 member of our Chapter. If you were a member at the beginning of 2015 - or have joined since January - you are entitled to a complimentary round!
The round can be 18 holes on the Arcade Creek or Alister MacKenzie Course or two nine-hole rounds on Arcade Creek. It is valid any day after 11 a.m., walking. If you did not pick up your certificate at the "Kickoff Brunch," or since that time, it will be mailed to you with the 2015 Membership Directory in late April.
If you would like to receive it prior to that time, please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Nancy Lyons, 2177 Penstone Loop, Roseville, CA 95747. You may also email her at [email protected] to arrange to pick it up. |
Hump Day Fun Play Starts April 8th - In Case You Missed the Announcement Last Week
|
Starting April 8th, 2015 at Haggin Oaks, Arcade Creek, please join us for 9 holes of golf, tee times start at 5:30.
You do not have to play regularly, just come out when you can. No registration is required, but please let Judy Mayes know if you are planning to play.
This is a very popular event. We only have room for 16 players and EWGA members are given priority. The "early bird catches the worm", so the sooner you let her know every week that you plan to play, the more assured you are of a spot. Fees are paid at the course at time of play.
Guests are welcome and we usually have room but check with Judy before you invite your guests to come, just in case.
P.S. Don't forget to plan to stay for dinner after to enjoy some social time.
