 April Specialties

Sorachi Ace American Wheat

This is an American wheat beer-wheat is used but the regular ale yeast doesn't give the banana-clove you'd find in German wheat beers. Expect a light, complex herbal aroma and foretaste. Light color and body with low bitterness. Finishes clean with a gentle maltiness.

Style: American Wheat Beer
OG: 1050; ABV: 4.75%; IBU: 27; Color 3.

Munich Helles

(available when the American Wheat runs dry). The classic lager drunk by the masses in Bavaria. Clean, light with rich malt in aroma and flavor. Balanced by imported Hallertauer Mittelfruh hops.
Style: Munich Helles

OG: 1056; ABV: 5.5%; IBU: 19; Color 3.

 Elusive Brew

English Oat RIS

(available Thursday, April 9)

Following upon the success of the English Oat Wine from February, this Russian Imperial Stout may be described as a blend of a strong Oatmeal Stout and our English Oat Wine. Sweet malt aromas and a dry roast finish. Strong, just the beer for those last chilly days of spring.
Growlers only; Mug Club members may order one goblet per visit.
Growlers available: 30
Refill cost: $30/reg. $15/mini.
Style: Russian Imperial Stout; OG: 1084; ABV: 9; IBU: 56; Color: black.

Worth Brewing taps Spring Bock Fest Saturday April 25

We'll tap the spring season in Northwood April 25 with the annual Spring Bock Fest. Beer is the boss of this party, but we will have homemade food, music and fun all day in the Tap Room and biergarten. Some highlights:

Beer Specials: Opening the day at noon we'll tap a cask of Bavarian Kellerbier. This Munich-style Helles is made in Northwood with imported German malt and hops. Be there for the foamy drama. We've also brewed a German Rauchbier, using malt smoked over a beechwood fire.

Guest Beer: Our imported fest beer will be a rare treat, Hubertus Maibock from Hacker-Pschorr in Germany. We have just one 50-liter keg, so get in early.

Food specials: Worth Brewing Company's own Festdogs will be back after rave reviews at Olefest in January. We'll also make red cabbage. Food is available from noon until it's finished.

Live music: Big Ben and the Brians Concertina band will perform from 5 to 9 p.m. They have become favorites at past bock fests and Northwood's Oktoberfest.

Events: Bock fire poking in the biergarten after 5 p.m. and special drawing giveaways all day.

Festivities run from noon to 11 p.m.
