Pathways to Prosperity Conference

Integrating  Asset-Building Throughout Communities

The 2013 Pathways to Prosperity Conference (October 16-17, 2013) will examine innovations in research, practice,  and policies to successfully integrate asset-building services in communities.  How are communities and practitioners assembling their particular economic puzzle to promote asset development?  What is the new picture of prosperity, and what partners are needed to make it happen?  What new and relevant research informs the pathways at the community level?  What are the roles of employers and community leaders? How can specific populations such as people of color, youth, and people with disabilities, benefit from targeted services?

Join with colleagues and the nation's foremost experts to make new connections and to learn about innovations, the integration of asset development in recent research, community partnership successes, savings innovations, consumer finance reforms, and more. Registration is $150 with optional half day Mini-Conferences ($75) on day one.

We have confirmed these exciting plenary speakers to share their wisdom:

Lunch, October 16th:

North Carolina State Treasurer Janet Cowell will discuss her efforts to promote financial education and savings across the lifespan, from youth through retirement.

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Elaine Arkin will discuss the health needs of vulnerable populations and talk about the Foundation's efforts to address social determinants of health, including the affects of economic insecurity.

Breakfast, October 17th:

                                        Greater Triangle United Way CEO Mack Koonce will lead a panel presentation on the recently published What Works for America's Communities including Senior Editor Nancy O. Andrews, President and CEO of the Low-Income Investment Fund, and Ian Galloway, Senior Research Associate at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Lunch, October 17th:

Thomas E. Stokes III of Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation will discuss household savings for short-term and emergency needs.

1.  Mini-Conference ONLY.  Mini-Conferences ($75) are from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., on October 16th, directly preceding the Full Conference.  You can choose from 1 of 6 concurrent mini-sessions (listed below).

2. Full Conference ONLY. The Full Conference  ($150) will begin on October 16th at noon with lunch, and end on October 17th at 4:15 p.m..  During the Conference you can choose to attend up to 5  concurrent conference sessions (listed below) from 24 session choices.

3.  Full Conference PLUS one Mini- Conference ($225) - Start with your selected mini-conference and join us for the full two-days.
