2015 AP� Summer Institutes
 

Valdosta State University (VSU) Continuing Education is an approved provider of week-long Advanced Placement Summer Institutes�  (APSI) for teachers committed to the pursuit of enhanced teaching and learning. 

AP institute participantsJuly 6 - 10, 2015  - This year we are offering English Language and Composition and World History.

   
Register early  - Space is limited. Early fee discount ends May 31, 2015 In an effort to maximize facilitator and participant interaction,  APSI programs are limited to  20 students  at Valdosta State University.

NEW for Camp Discovery 

Summer  2015

Camp Discovery, VSU Continuing Education's summer day camp program, is pleased to announce the launching of an exciting new series of digital arts and technology programs this summer. 

 

In cooperation with Black Rocket Productions, these half-day camps will be offered for kids aged 8-14. Participants will explore topics such as claymation, video game making, stop-action film making, make-your-own app, and much more!

black rocket logoFeaturing a tried-and-true web-based curriculum guided by an on-site instructor, Black Rocket programs have been summer camp favorites in the northeast and mid-Atlantic states for more than 10 years. We are proud to be the first and only location in Georgia offering this curriculum.

 

The cost for each camp is $169, except for the "Code Breakers" camps offered the week of June 29-July 2, which cost $135 (4-day week; closed Friday July 3rd

for holiday). Camps are offered for two different age groups. Sessions for ages 8-11are held in the morning from 9 am-12 noon, and for ages 11-14 are held in the afternoon from 1-4 pm. Individuals who are 11 years old have the option of registering for either section.

LIR is member-led and university-sponsored. Our members are involved in determining curriculum, recruiting new members, managing the budget, and developing social programming.

 

We could not function without member volunteers. Right now, we need folks to assist with our Curriculum Committee and Social Committee.
