On October 17, 2013, the CFPB and the MBA offered a presentation called the CFPB Update on Origination Rules. The transcript was provided by Buckley Sandler LLP.

Entitled Unofficial Staff Guidance - Origination Rule Inquiries, the CFPB gave a slide presentation, along with commentary, in order to clarify several areas of keen interest with respect to the implementation of its loan origination rules.

Lisa Applegate, who is the Mortgage Implementation Lead at the CFPB, reviewed a series of FAQs, across the rules, along with three subject matter experts, attorneys in the CFPB's Office of Regulations, Andy Arculin, Dan Brown, and Nick Hluchyj, providing unofficial, oral guidance remarks.

As we near January 2014 and the implementation of numerous new regulations promulgated by the CFPB, it is informative to read the transcript.

We want to bring this presentation to your attention in order to further enhance your preparation for implementing the new rules that will affect loan originations.
