Dear ,
The Philippine Mission is over and everyone is back home, or should be. A big thanks to all who participated. Once again we had missioners from the US, Spain, Canada, Australia, and the Philippines. I can't begin to thank everyone enough for their dedication and hard work to help get this mission going and achieve the level of success. It was one of the best missions. Thanks again.

Final Report from the Philippines 2015
One of the challenges coming back from any mission is re-entry back into your daily lives at home. It depends on if it's your first time or if it one of many times. Yet no matter how many times you go it touches your life. Missioners have had experiences that most everyone else may have never had in their lives before. Many times when a missioner starts to tell you a story of their mission, you will notice their eye widen, their hands may start to move around in front of them, they will talk about things you may have no idea what they are talking about, if they have their mobile device they will show you pictures (be careful if the missioner is from the medical team, you never know what kind of pictures they will show you:)). Just know that everything is OK. Mission does that to you. Know that the missioner is speaking from the heart. They are proclaiming the mission experience.
Those who have gone on many missions will tend to smile, nod their head, and just invite you to come on the next mission. What's holding you back?

Preparing for Bolivia
Our Sucre, Bolivia mission team is preparing to leave on April 11th. This mission is our 22nd year of returning to Bolivia. It was our first location to send a mission team to in 1994. Many of our missioners have been in Sucre over the years. It is a special and something of a sacred place for us to go. God has lead us to Sucre. The all day team formation was a few weeks ago and the second formation night this last week at the Blanchette Catholic Center. We will cover many topics in preparation for the mission.
As we have done since 1997 we will have the team break into three sections; medical, construction, and outreach. Each section will have it's responsibilities. Of course medical will be doing surgery in the hospital. We'll also be doing clinics in the surround area. We working on finalizing the details.
Construction will most likely be similar to last year. We probably will be doing more repair type of work than building new structures. We look for jobs that will match the skill level of our people to available tasks.
Outreach will be working with locations to present Water with Blessings. This a fantastic program to bring clean water to the communities. We have done this program in Sucre and the Philippines.
One area we are looking for help is for the medical team. We could use another general surgeon and anesthesiologist. If you know anyone that would be interested have them contact the missions office at [email protected] or call 815 221-6258.

It's really a great group of people ready to have a very thoughtful experience of doing meaningful work. Visit dioceseofjoliet.org/umbolivia to learn a little more and to support the mission.

Faith Promise Dinner We are still over 7 months away, but the Faith Promise Dinner will be coming up fast. So mark on your calendar November 6th for the Faith Promise Dinner. Doors will open at 6:00pm. We will once again be at the Abbington Banquet Hall in Glen Ellyn. We have a well known speaker to lead missions into the future. Come and support missions. Your pledge will help missions do more than we have ever done before.
If you're interested in being part of the Faith Promise Dinner planning team let me know. We're pulling together the 2015 team.
