A permanent home for Gaza "refugees"
Rabbi Tzion Tawil Affixes Mezuzah on New Home

After nine and a half years of living in a trailer camp, the
displaced residents of Gush Katif, Gaza, who found refuge and community in Ariel, are finally moving into their permanent homes. Avi Zimmerman in the Times of Israel: "What's Next for Gaza's Settlers"

A modest gathering on a cool January evening may arguably have been the most significant development the "settler movement" has seen since the 2005 Disengagement from Gaza. In terms of quantity, it was a seemingly insignificant dedication of a single semi-detached home on a quiet street still under construction. In terms of quality, it revealed the soul of a "settler", the admiration of his students and an evolving partnership with a city perched upon the crossroads of Israel's future.

Winter in Ariel
Snow in Ariel

January saw "White Ariel" with the city blanketed in snow during a storm the swept the country. As residents stayed warm in their homes or built snowmen, the gazelles at Ariel's wildlife reserve jumped across the snowy hills to let us capture some beautiful shots. Keeping Ariel's Residents Warm

The Department of Social Welfare made sure no Ariel resident was left out in the cold. With temperatures reaching xxx degrees during the snow storm, the Department distributed radiators to families in need of some extra warmth.
