HERE'S THE LATEST ...
at the Presbyterian Church in Sudbury
Greetings!
We invite you to worship with us this Sunday, June 16th at 10:00am.

Please remember that we have begun our summer worship schedule. Worship each week will be at 10:00am. Fellowship time immediately follows the service and is a perfect opportunity to join friends and meet new ones while enjoying a cup of coffee and a snack.

This week's prayers for morning and evening are included below instead of the bulletin this week.

Remember to check the master calendar for news about upcoming events and updates

Worship this week, June 16th at 10:00am

Dr. McIvor's sermon is "Close to Jesus" based on Luke 7.36-8.3. A man named Simon invites Jesus to a dinner party. An unnamed woman anoints Jesus' feet with her tears and wipes them with her hair. This upsets Simon because the woman was a sinner and he thinks Jesus should know better than to let a sinful woman touch him. Then Jesus tells Simon a parable about forgiveness. Simon didn't get it but the woman did, and she is forgiven because she stays close to Jesus.

Sanctuary Air Conditioning
PCIS sanctuary AC

We are pleased that we now have A/C in the sanctuary and it has operated the last two Sundays.

The purpose of the A/C units is two-fold: (1) to reduce temperature and humidity in the sanctuary to comfortable levels and (2) to reduce outside noise infiltration by keeping the windows closed. There will be some Sundays where low to moderate weather conditions do not typically require A/C; however in order to keep outside noise infiltration low, the windows must remain closed and the A/C units will need to operate to maintain comfort levels. An example of this was last Sunday, June 9th.

We are in the process of tweaking the many settings to optimize on comfort levels consistent with keeping both outside noise and A/C unit fan noise to a minimum. If anyone has any questions or comments, feel free to pass them along to Barry Fiske at [email protected] or 617-733-9166 (cell).

Worship at Wingate

Please consider joining us this Sunday at 1:00pm at Wingate Nursing Home as we minister to God's older children. Volunteers are always needed, especially during the summer months. Contact Susan DeHoff with questions at [email protected].

This Week's Prayers for Morning and Evening

Morning

Holy One, Holy Three, be my guide, my guardian, and my strength today. Let me be treated fairly by all whom I meet, and remind me to treat fairly all whom I meet. Grant me Christ's forgiveness from anyone I harm, and charge me in Christ's name to forgive anyone who does me harm. So, guide my ways, guard my life, and grant me strength to honor the crucified Son, Holy Three, Holy One. Amen

Evening

Eternal God, as this day comes to a close, I thank you for every blessing I have received. Forgive me for the wrongs I have done and the good I have neglected. Grant me rest in your arms, free of regret and worry. Let sleep restore and refresh me, so that I may rise to a new day, giving you thanks and praise by the power of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
