EcoHealth Ontario and the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation are hosting a pre-convention workshop on Realizing the Health Benefits of Green Spaces in a Changing World at The Ontario Public Health Convention (TOPHC).
TOPHC will be held from March 25 - 27 this year at the Allstream Centre in Toronto. All pre-convention workshops will be held on Tuesday, March 24.
The purpose of the pre-convention workshops are to provide education and skill development on particular public health themes or topics. A focus on the importance of green spaces is a theme we are excited to see featured, understanding that supporting healthy environments is tightly woven with the health and well-being of individuals and communities; as some of you may know, it is part of our dedicated action plan to link food, farming and health.
Also to keep an eye on: EcoHealth Ontario has submitted a proposal to the Ontario Biodiversity Summit, happening in Niagara Falls May 19 - 22. This summit is the first of its kind in Ontario, where participants will learn more about the state of biodiversity in our province and what is happening to protect it.
