Worship this week - November 24th

Dr. McIvor's sermon is "Do We Need a King?" based on Colossians 1.11-20. "Jesus Christ is King." That is a fundamental affirmation of all Christian theology. It certainly is what the apostle Paul described when he wrote to the Colossians that Jesus is "the image of the invisible God" and "the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything." However, we live in a different time when most monarchs today, whether male or female, are either figureheads or tyrants. What does it mean to talk about having a king in our time and culture?
