TONIGHT! Incarnation Celebration - Friday, December 6, 6:00pm - Lower Auditorium SLC invites you as well as your partners and families to celebrate the Christmas season. The Incarnation Celebration is a cherished tradition  of jovial laughter and genuine presence with one another. Bring your favorite finger food or dessert to share; SLC will provide apple cider and hot cocoa. There will be crafts for children, a tacky/ugly Christmas Sweater contest, and a Variety Show.

  

 

University Annual Lovefeast - Sunday, December 8, 8:00 - 9:30pm - Wait Chapel | The Lovefeast is sponsored by the University and celebrates one of the unique traditions of the Moravian community in Winston-Salem. The Quad is lined with luminaries, the Chapel is adorned with Christmas decorations, the concert choir and Moravian band are featured, traditional Moravian coffee and buns are served, and beeswax candles are provided to all who attend. STARTING TOMORROW: Exam Study Spaces | The Lower Auditorium and rooms 105, 114, 201, 202, 213, 301A, and 302 will be available for your use from December 7 - 14 as exam study spaces each day from 8:00am until midnight. Please note previously scheduled meetings and other room commitments (like final exams) have priority access to spaces previously reserved. Be courteous if another group is already in a space during that week.

Job of the Week

Winston-Salem, NC - Anthony's Plot, an affiliated ministry of The Board of Cooperative Ministries, is seeking overnight shelter monitors to provide leadership and oversight of the nightly operation of the winter overflow shelter. Position is for 24-36 hours/week. This position will report directly to Rev. Russ May and the Congregation and Community Outreach Meeting (a collaborative body that serves the WS homeless community with the Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness and the WS/FC Council on Homeless Services). This position is located in downtown Winston-Salem, NC.

Life After Death: The Day of the Dead in Mexico at the Museum of AnthropologyMOA's annual exhibit includes new information with sections about the celebration's history and its unique folk art. The centerpiece is a traditional Mexican ofrenda: a home altar with sugar skulls, colorful tissue paper cutouts, food and beverage offerings, marigolds, and photos of deceased relatives to honor the dead. A children's ofrenda and a digital photo essay illustrating different aspects of the celebration are also on display. Text is in English and Spanish. Admission is free. Exhibit runs through December 13.
