Breakfast with Friends

You are invited to meet, mingle and enjoy breakfast while learning about the compassionate services Catholic Charities Community Services provides to individuals with disabilities & those living with significant health challenges. We are excited to host award-winning jazz pianist, Matt Savage, and that he will perform at Breakfast with Friends.

Additionally, this year’s “friendraiser” will also feature the presentation of two new Catholic Charities Community Services awards - Heart and Soul Award and Community Champion Award - to people who embody Catholic Charities Community Services’ mission.

The Heart and Soul Award is given to a person who through his/her character, integrity, spirit and loving compassion has improved the quality of life for our constituents. This award is being presented to Paul T. Pickering, CCCS’ founding executive director. Under his always-compassionate leadership, the agency grew from one residential home in 1980 to a multifaceted organization serving those with developmental disabilities, HIV/AIDS, and traumatic brain injury.

The Community Champion Award goes to an individual who, throughout his/her career, has significantly advocated, supported, encouraged and promoted a just and compassionate society for the individuals that CCCS serves. The first such award will be presented to Rene` H. Reixach, Jr., Esq. of Woods Oviatt, Gillman, LLC, where he is a partner in the firm’s Elder Law and Health Care Practice Group. Of paramount importance to
many CCCS constituents is Reixach’s contribution to successfully advocate for the establishment of special needs trust funds for those who are Medicaid recipients. Reixach has also frequently been CCCS staff’s go-to person for help in Medicaid-related issues to ensure clients’ continued coverage and treatment.
