Getting ready for the school year

 

Hot lunches, school supplies, books, school trips. These are just some of the items that not every family can afford for their children in Ariel as they enjoy Ariel's award-winning public schools. There are over 900 children in the City of Ariel whose families receive assistance from the Department of Social Services. Make sure not one child is left behind by contributing to our Back to School fund.

Summer Visitors to Ariel

Tour Guides Tour Ariel

Ariel's remarkable growth over the decades has made the city a popular destination for diverse tour groups. Given the growing interest of tourist and groups, we hosted a group of 15 tour guides from all over the country on July 14, 2013 to showcase the city's treasures in the fields of education, industry, culture, and social action. 

 

San Antonio Delegation Debut Visit to Ariel

A delegation from Riverside Community Church in San Antonio, Texas visited Ariel on July 30 to round out their study tour of Israel led by Pastors Scott Heare and Adam Schindler. They started off at the Ariel National Center for Leadership Development to foster teamwork, leadership and self-empowerment through physically challenging obstacles and Biblical narrative. 

 

Ariel Extends Olive Branch to Olive Tree Initiative

The Olive Tree Initiative, a university-based organization that promotes conflict analysis and resolution through experiential education, made another perennial visit to Ariel to balance its studies of Judea and Samaria. The multi-ethnic group that includes Jews and Muslims spent about two weeks in Israel to meet with personalities who address the gamut of viewpoints relating to the Israeli-Arab conflict. 

Ariel University Hosts Int'l Journalists   

  

In the wake of the EU directive to withhold academic and cultural funding from Israeli entities beyond the Green Line, Israel's Government Press Office hosted 50 international journalists at Ariel University and the Barkan Industrial Park so they could begin to grasp the counter-productivity of the EU's foreign policy on both Arab and Jewish populations. 

Ayn Rand Center, Israel, Experience Ariel's Heroic Vision

  

Boaz Arad, director of the Ayn Rand Center, Israel, visited Ariel with Shoshana Milgram, Professor of English at Virginia Tech, to learn more about the city and to meet with Ariel University's Chancellor Yigal Cohen-Orgad. In her bestselling classics, The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand presents the vision of men and women overcoming obstacles to achieve greatness through reason, devoted work, and adherence to moral principle.

The Ariel's World Dance Troupes, also known as "Dora's Dancers," celebrated 20 years of quality entertainment at the Ariel Regional Center for Performing Arts with an end-of-the-year performance. The troupe was founded by Dora and Masha Litvak to cultivate the talent of local children and teenagers and to tell Ariel's story through dance. They've appeared across the US for churches, schools, synagogues, almost always to a standing ovation.
