Notes and news from Alita Wilson,
Pentangle's Executive Director
:

Pentangle Arts is celebrating its 40th Anniversary Season this year, and lately I've been spending time reflecting on Pentangle's history, how the organization has grown, evolved, and changed over the last four decades -- while always remaining committed to bringing excellent art experiences to our broad community. Talking with people at Town Meeting this week, I realized there are many misconceptions about Pentangle, and we could do a better job of communicating some history and facts about our organization. So, for some of you this really isn't news...but for others, it might be fun to know:

1. Pentangle has been the steward of Town Hall Theatre since 1985. We do not own it, but rather are responsible for securing funds (often through grants) to ensure that the needed maintenance and upkeep happens.

2. The Town of Woodstock owns the digital projector. Pentangle operates and maintains it.

3. Pentangle moved into Town Hall in 1990, and pays rent and utilities for its office space.

What hasn't changed in 40 years is Pentangle's mission to bring diverse arts programming to this neck of the woods, and most importantly, to make the arts accessible for all. This month enjoy Throwback Thursdays (honoring film from 40 years ago), the Progressive Organ Concert, the annual 6th Grade play, and much more! Visit www.pentanglearts.org for details.
