NCSEJ at AIPAC's annual Policy Conference

NCSEJ Executive Director Mark Levin spoke on a panel about Russia's paradoxical approach to the Middle East at AIPAC Policy Conference 2015. The AIPAC policy conference is the largest annual gathering of America's pro-Israel community, with over 16,000 participants this year.

NCSEJ and B'nai B'rith International co-hosted a meeting with Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius of Lithuania.
 
Issues discussed included the Ukraine crisis, property restitution, a recent neo-Nazi march in Kaunas, and UN resolutions on the Middle East.

NC SEJ leaders  participat ed in the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations' annual mission .

Meetings included: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Reuven Rivlin, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, and opposition leaders Tzipi Livni and Isaac Herzog. Issues discussed included Iran, ISIS, and the upcoming Israeli elections.

NCSEJ organized a series of meetings and accompanied Ukrainian Jewish Committee (UJC) President Oleksandr Feldman and UJC Executive Director Eduard Dolinsky during their visit to Washington.

 

Issues discussed included the Ukraine crisis, the humanitarian needs of the Ukrainian Jewish community, and U.S.-Ukraine relations.

NCSEJ fighting anti-Semitism

NCSEJ Executive Director spoke  in a lecture series "the Rise in Anti-Semitism and our Response" at Temple B'nai Israel in Easton, Maryland. 
 
Mark Levin addressed anti-Semitism in eastern and western Europe, highlighted the importance of fighting anti-Semitism in all its forms not only for Jewish communities, but for everyone.  Read more .   

NCSEJ meets with Georgian Foreign Minister

NCSEJ  hosted a meeting with Georgian Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili, during her first working visit to the United States. Participants included NCSEJ member agencies, members of the NCSEJ Board of Governors, and representatives from the Embassy of Georgia.
 
Minister Beruchashvili gave an overview of Georgia's foreign and domestic policy priorities. She emphasized Georgia's Western-oriented foreign policy and spoke about the progress Georgia has achieved in its pursuit toward integration into the European Union and NATO. Read more
 

70th Anniversary of Auschwitz Liberation

NCSEJ  Deputy Director Lesley Weiss joined her mother Irene Fogel Weiss, an Auschwitz-Birkenau survivor in Poland to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp. Irene Weiss was a member of the official U.S. Presidential delegation to the anniversary ceremony.

NCSEJ organized a series of meetings and accompanied the President of the Russian Jewish Congress (RJC) Yuri Kanner during his visit to Washington. 

 

Issues discussed included current developments in the Russian Jewish community, as well as the general situation in Russia and the former Soviet Union region.
