Volunteer Maryland
August 20, 2013
Greetings!

I am so excited to announce that Patrice Beverly has been selected to lead Volunteer Maryland as the Director!

Patrice Beverly

For the past ten years, Patrice has served as Volunteer Maryland's Outreach Manager, where she was responsible for program marketing, outreach, and partnership development, including recruitment and selecting Volunteer Maryland Service Sites, Peer Leaders, and Volunteer Maryland Coordinators.  A two-time AmeriCorps alum, Patrice served as a Regional Coordinator in VM Class 15 and as a Volunteer Maryland Coordinator in VM Class 14 at the Anne Arundel County Board of Education working with teachers and students to strengthen service-learning.

Patrice brings dedication, humor, and proven leadership to this new position.  Since joining the VM staff in 2003, Patrice has reviewed over 1,500 applications and interviewed over 450 individuals for Volunteer Maryland Coordinator positions.  She's reviewed over 225 Service Site applications and driven more than 15,000 miles all over the State to meet with Service Sites.  Patrice has also spent 1,543 hours in training, where she has been an instrumental player in developing and facilitating training, all while playing along with every ice breaker, teambuilding activity, song, and skit.

As the first Volunteer Maryland alumna to serve as Director, Patrice brings a wealth of program knowledge and alumni connections to the role.  Now entering its 21st year and about to welcome its 26th class, Volunteer Maryland is in great hands!

As Patrice becomes the Director of Volunteer Maryland, I am heading to the Governor's Office on Service and Volunteerism where I will take on the role of Program Officer.  I am incredibly grateful for the time I've spent as part of the Volunteer Maryland team.  For more on that, click here

Please join me in welcoming Patrice to her new role!

Sincerely,

Maureen K. Eccleston
