WSJ.Com Highlights Expansion Of Homebase Program

The de Blasio administration will scrap New York City's 20-year-old policy that requires families seeking entry into the homeless shelter system to go to a single location in the Bronx to register. A second intake facility will open in Brooklyn to offer families help with staying in their homes through Homebase, a homelessness-prevention program sponsored by the NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS). New Date For HOPE Count 2015 - Volunteers Still Needed!

This week's severe storm predictions caused the NYC Department of Homeless Services to postpone their annual Homeless Outreach Population Estimate, but the good news is there's still time to get involved!
The new date is Monday, February 9 and volunteers are still needed to canvas parks, subways, and other public spaces to estimate the number of people living unsheltered in the city. Register today! When asked: "Are you associated with a member of the NYC Continumm of Care?" chose SUS. GET MORE INFO
