Screenprinting Class
A Crash Course in Screenprinting
Saturday & Sunday June 22 & 23, noon - 4 pm

Learn basic techniques of how to create images on screens without an exposure unit. The class will cover color mixing, registration techniques and low-tech versions of how to make handmade and handcut stencils.

Minnesota Quilters Inc. 35th Annual Quilt Show
June 13-15, 9 am-5 pm
Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC)
350 Harbor Drive, Duluth Minnesota

Hundreds of quilts from around the country will be on display; challenge quilts by five groups (including Twin Cities Quilting, Minnesota Contemporary Quilters, Studio Art Quilt Alliance, National Quilting Association judges and Block Swappers in South Central Minnesota); quilts made by Duluth students; a special exhibit of Mariners Compass quilts curated by Claudia Clark Myers of Duluth and twenty applique quilts designed by Pat Cox and made by her students and friends. 102 vendors to shop from. Classes and lectures also available. 
 
Also: "Greetings from Finland," an exhibit of 23 contemporary wall quilts and 25 original fabric postcards created by two quilting guilds in Finland who are exhibiting in the US for the first time. Melissa Nellis and Anita Jain of Fiber Arts Cultural Exchange (FACE) invited the guilds to participate.
 
$10 admission; $8 MQ members; $25 for multi-day pass.

The upcoming "Fabricate" runway show at Surface Design Association's conference in San Antonio will feature juried-in work by Textile Center members Linda Kollofski ("Hibiscus Homage," "Daisy Vest") and Mary Mortenson ("Walnut Creek Jacket," "Mesabi Jacket").
