Alumni Spotlight
|
Last summer, the Alumni Office reached out asking Bearcats to "Share Your Story." Nearly 250 Saint Vincent stories were submitted.
Atty. Gino F. Peluso, C'77
"Every life has a story." This one begins with the journey of my parents, Frank & Raffaelina Peluso, who traveled from Lago, Italy, to raise a family in Westmoreland County. When we visited Saint Vincent, my parents and I were made to feel like family, and this extended family continues to grow to this day, as I presently serve as vice president of the Saint Vincent Law Society. Having attended Catholic schools my entire academic career, I felt very comfortable with the Benedictine traditions and teachings. The friendships I developed with classmates, faculty and school administrators will always remain with me as a special part of my Saint Vincent College experience. My interest in law began at Saint Joseph High School, and one of the proudest moments in my life, as well as that of my parents, was graduation day at Saint Vincent. Thereafter, I became the first in my family to enter the legal profession, and have maintained a private law practice for 33 years. During this time, one of my proudest achievements was becoming the first Saint Vincent College graduate to serve as president of the Duquesne University Law Alumni Association. At the conclusion of my tenure, I had the distinct honor of serving as a speaker at the law school's 97th commencement ceremonies. If I had the chance to go back in time, I would, once again, choose law as my profession, and most assuredly choose Saint Vincent as my school.
