Act Now for Marriage Equality
Dear Neighbors,

Veto session begins this week, and continues the week of November 4th. We have never been closer to achieving marriage equality in our state, and need all hands on deck for the final push. We can only achieve this milestone with your help. If we are going to be successful, it will be because people like you left nothing to chance. If there is anyone in your life you haven't asked to contact their legislator, especially those living outside the city, there isn't a moment to waste. Call them now, email them the link below and tell them it is time to get the message across that equality can't wait.

Since the end of the Spring session, I have traveled the state to meet with undecided legislators and editorial boards. Illinois Unites has hired field staff to organize support in competitive districts, and thousands of volunteers have gotten involved in phone banks and canvasses.

There are three things you can do to help us win this fight:

1) Encourage your friends and family across the state to contact their legislators. A phone call only takes a minute and can help show undecided legislators the strong support from their constituents. You can help others find their legislators here.

2) Sign up with Illinois Unites to volunteer- You can attend a lobby day, meet with your legislator, go to a rally or help activate supporters in swing districts. You can sign up to volunteer here.

3) Participate in a phone bank in our neighborhood. Each week organizers are hosting phone banks in Andersonville and Rogers Park. These critically important phone calls can help activate voters in districts whose representatives are on the fence.
