Today-
Stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other appreciated securities may be donated to HabiJax as a gift now. A benefit of such a gift, beyond the charitable income tax deduction, is the avoidance of capital gains tax on the appreciation.
The Future-
In addition to providing a current gift, securities may also be part of the planned giving process. Also, through a will, living trust, beneficiary designations on a life insurance policy and an IRA/401K, you can continue to support the mission of HabiJax beyond your lifetime. Your will can state specifically what you would like to donate and may include securities, a specific amount of money, a percentage of your estate or a specific asset or piece of property. Charitable bequests could reduce the amount of estate taxes your beneficiaries may owe.
