Matt Crane's sermon is "Surplus Powerlessness or Immeasurable Power" based on 2 Timothy 1.1-14. There is talk of the concept of 'surplus powerlessness' amongst social and political scientists - the idea we accept that we are more powerless than we actually are. However, the Apostle Paul talks of a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline that is for those who believe in Jesus Christ. What is the nature of this power and what does it look like? We will consider what all of the means for us.

Join the Choir!
The Chancel Choir and Praise Team are always looking to welcome singers and musicians of all skill levels. The Praise Team rehearses Wednesdays at 7:30pm and the Chancel Choir Thursdays at 7:30pm. Feel free to stop by rehearsal or contact music director, Matthew Guerrieri if you have any questions.

Sunday School Isn't Just For Kids!
Attention Adults! Think Sunday school is just for the kids? Well, you're wrong! The Adult Education Class has started and we invite you to join us Sundays at 9:30am. The class is held next door at Sudbury Grange. The class will provide opportunities for attendees to delve into the sermon-based scripture each week. All are welcome. Sign-ups for the 2013 Advent Devotional Booklet
Sign-ups will begin this Sunday in the foyer outside Fellowship Hall. Advent means "coming," and this year it begins on December 1st. The 2013 PCIS Advent Devotional booklet is coming too, and that means the opportunity for everyone to contribute a reflection to it. Sign-ups for each of the 25 days will begin October 6th, in the foyer. This year, you can pick any day or Scripture verse in the season even if someone else is doing it too! And artwork to adorn the pages will be encouraged as well. We're sure that once again this congregation-written booklet will be a blessing to us all as we approach the celebration of Christ's birth.
