SBC's 40th Anniversary production of The Nutcracker with the Illinois Symphony Orchestra a great success!

Thank you to everyone who supported our 40th Anniversary production of The Nutcracker with the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, sponsored by CEFCU; Prairie Dental Group; Dr. Jason Aleman; Springfield Associates in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery; The Landmark Automotive Group; and the Illinois Arts Council Agency.

The Springfield Ballet Company is grateful for the overwhelming support and dedication of all the dancers, artistic and administrative staff, board members, volunteers, donors, sponsors, families, friends, businesses, arts advocates, and fans who have made our first 40 years in this community so wonderful.

Summer Intensives

For some dancers, January and February mean a busy couple months of auditions for summer intensive workshops. SBC asked Company dancers Madison Hutmacher and Jocelyn Holmes about their experiences from last summer.

Madison attended the Grand Rapids Ballet Summer Intensive for five weeks, while Jocelyn attended the USA International Ballet Competition Dance School (IBC) Summer Intensive for two weeks. Both dancers had incredible experiences and had the opportunity to work with several professional dancers whom they admire very much.

To read about their experiences, visit our Beyond the Barre blog posts.

And don't forget! The SBC has two weeks of fantastic teachers lined up for our Summer Intensive Workshop.

Week One will be held June 14 to 18 (Sunday through Thursday) at the Hoogland Center for the Arts, Theatre II, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily, and will feature master teachers William Gill and Ashley Rockwood. For more information, visit our website HERE

Week Two will be held August 3 to 7 (Monday through Friday) and details will be coming soon!
