Assemblymember Santiago Introduces AB 292 to Ensure Students Have Enough Time to Eat

Yesterday, February 12, Assemblymember Miguel Santiago (D -Los Angeles) introduced AB 292, Time to Eat: Lunchtime Supports Learning. This CFPA-sponsored bill will ensure that students are given at least 20 minutes to eat after being served lunch at school.

AB 292 is Assemblymember Santiago's first introduction for the 2014-15 session and reflects his strong commitment to health and education. The bill aims to improve student nutrition, support academic achievement, and reduce food waste. When students have enough time to eat a complete lunch at school, they are better able to focus and learn.
