WESTCHESTER, IL - Are you ready to launch your construction career? If so, join the Chicago Urban League Transportation Construction Apprenticeship Readiness Training Program. You can get training, mentoring, connections to union apprenticeships, and JOBS.
Three steps are involved. Step 1. Interested applicants should join Senator Kimberly A. Lightford and Representative Chris Welch tomorrow, October 11, 2013 from 10a-12p or Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 2p-4p at Senator Lightford's office located at 10001 W. Roosevelt Road, Suite 222, Westchester, Illinois 60154. Step 2. Qualified applicants will spend 3 weeks for Preparation Skills (Drug Testing, Physical Agility and Math Test preparation) with the Austin People Action Center and receive $100 a week for lunch and transportation. Step 3. Qualified applicants will receive 8 weeks of training with the Local 150 Operating Engineers Union and the Chicago Laborers District Council from 7am-3pm and be paid $10.00 an hour.
