Westland Bowl is Ready to Roll

Westland, MIMayor William R. Wild is pleased to announce that residents and visitors can once again hit the hardwood on Wayne Road, as Westland Bowl opens its doors once again under new ownership.

On Monday, September 9th, Mayor Wild, along with Wayne County Commissioner Richard LeBlanc, Senator Glenn Anderson, City Council members and other local dignitaries, celebrated the grand re-opening of Westland Bowl with new owners, and Westland natives, Mark and Gwen Brooks and Scott and Lynda Derosia.

"We are very excited to see Westland Bowl officially re-open for business," said Mayor Wild. "The establishment has been a part of our community for 49 years and I know that a lot of people were sad when it closed its' doors last year. With the new owner Mark's seven 300 games to his record, we know bowling is in his blood and we wish him the best of luck as they move forward with this exciting venture."

As avid bowlers, it was cousins Mark and Scott's dream to own a bowling center. When Westland Bowl closed down last year they saw opportunity knocking. Along with their wives, Gwen and Lynda, they have spent the past few months updating the bowling alley with a new paint job, carpet and concourse area in the bar.

"Within the next two years we intend to make more modifications, this time to the concourse area and the bathrooms," said owner Mark Brooks. "We want to make our bowling alley more handicap accessible, ensuring it is family-friendly for everyone."

Westland Bowl will be bringing back the fun of Cosmic Bowling every Friday and Saturday from 9:00pm until close, beginning this Friday. The alley is also offering specials all week long, with $2 games before five o'clock Mondays through Saturdays, and all day on Sundays. Seniors are offered $1.50 games everyday of the week.

You can find applications for hire and bowling leagues, as well as hours of operation and contact information on the bowling alley's website, at: http://www.westlandbowl.com/. Westland Bowl is located at 5940 N. Wayne Road.
