Back in the swing of things

 

We hope you all survived your first week back in class! One week down, Thanksgiving is just around the corner! Isn't it great that Students' Council is offering so many fun activities to keep you motivated?

You will receive this e-newsletter every Monday during the academic year. If you are involved in an event on campus, share it with us. Deadline for submissions is Wednesday at noon for the following week's e-newsletter.

International students make King's their home
 

Did you know that King's is the new home to 165 international students in first year? We have around 400 international students at King's - that's 10 per cent of our student population! 11 of them are from India.

King's has part-time job opportunities available to international students attending King's full-time for this upcoming Fall/Winter term. Applications will be accepted from September 9 - 27! September 17: Last Day to add first-term or full-year course
 
As of September 16, you must use paper forms to add/drop full-year and first-term courses. Paper Add/Drop will take place in the Registrar's Office at King's (Wemple Building) from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on September 16 & 17.  
 
Steps for Paper Add/Drop:
  1. Fill out Add/Drop form from the Academic Dean's Office (DL 104) or the Registrar's Office (W104) 
  2. Get Department signatures on your form from either King's or another campus. You can obtain Department signatures for King's courses from the Registrar's Office on September 16 & 17
  3. Submit your completed Add/Drop form to the Registrar's Office on September 16 & 17 

** Students can continue to drop courses on paper through the Academic Dean's Office (Dante Lenardon Building) from September 18 to November 5 for first-term courses, and November 30 for full-year courses.

 

If you're unsure about dropping a course, please read the following To Drop or Not to Drop 

 

Important Dates:  

  • September 17: Last day to add a first-term half-course or full-year course 
  • November 5: Last day to drop a first-term half-course
  • November 30: Last day to drop a full-year course
  • January 14: Last day to add a second-term half-course
  • March 7: Last day to drop a second-term half-course

Vice-President Communications

The KUCSC is accepting applications for the Vice-President Communications position. Applications will be available from now until September 20 at 4:00 p.m. All interested applicants should send questions to Jen Carter at [email protected].


Clubs Week

 

Clubs Week runs daily this week from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. in Labatt Hall. This is a great opportunity to make new friends and to learn more about King's clubs. Bring cash with you as most clubs cost $5 to join. 

 

King's Wheels

 

The King's Wheels fleet is ready to roll! In order to use a King's Wheels bike students must purchase a $10.00 membership to the program. This membership allows students to borrow a bike for a 24 hour period during the fall and spring. To purchase your membership or for more information please go to the King's Connection between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.
