What We Learned: HIN's first industry survey on mHealth conducted in February 2013 captured current trends in emerging mHealth technologies. Nearly 150 healthcare organizations described the technologies they use, the conditions and populations they target, and the challenges and successes they've encountered along the way. While 20 percent saw no improvement, for remaining survey respondents, the top five areas improved by mHealth are:

  • Patient satisfaction: 13.7 percent

  • Disease management: 11.8 percent

  • Prevention: 9.8 percent

  • Compliance: 9.8 percent

  • Data analysis: 7.8 percent
