I-5 Improvements Coming to South County
Work Between Avenida Pico and San Juan Creek Funded by Measure M

Groundbreaking is set for early 2014 on a $275 million project on Interstate 5 (I-5) that will continue carpool lanes that now end in San Juan Capistrano to Avenida Pico in San Clemente, as well as bring major improvements to the congested Pico Interchange.

The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) are teaming up on the project, which is funded by Measure M, a half-cent sales tax approved by Orange County voters for transportation projects.

This month is dedicated to increasing public awareness of the importance of prevention, early detection and treatment of skin cancer. Take a minute to watch the video above to listen to Dr. Ryan Goerig, a board-certified dermatologist, specializing in aesthetic dermatology at Vorteil Dermatology discuss National Melanoma/Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month and then call Vorteil's office to make an appointment for a complimentary cancer screening.

Bonjour Cafe

When I moved to the United States, I found one thing was sorely lacking: French Bistros. Great fancy French restaurants existed but not enough casual places with French flavor, quality you can taste, ambiance which allows you to relax and prices that are recession proof. I simply replicated what we experienced in the streets of Paris and what appealed to so many Americans traveling through France. Using the same high quality ingredients and techniques that Bistro chefs have used for generations, we bring you daily the best breakfast and lunch in town. From our modest 1992 beginnings with little room and no employees, we have grown through 3 remodels to a 500 sq. ft. kitchen with 15 employees.

Passionate about creating without compromising, we won the loyalty of thousands of customers as well as a long time staff who have done a superb & consistent job. I invite you to explore our website and discover why we have been recognized by many as "zee place for breakfast and lunch."

Make sure to check our website from time to time as we unveil new services and update our menus.

Jimmy's Famous American Tavern

The idea for Jimmy's Famous American Tavern, or JFAT, grew out of the early tavern tradition that had its initial roots in Renaissance England and the sprouted up in New England states. The early versions were primarily "drinking establishments" offering up a limited array of food, sometimes of dubious quality. But they became social havens for locals and travelers alike that offered comfort and camaraderie. At the core of our concept is still based upon great brews and cocktails, but we wanted it to be a modern day interpretation....to create a social gathering place that serves both great drinks but also great food. A casual, comfortable, yet sophisticated neighborhood place great for a quick lunch, relaxing dinner or celebration with friends for any occasion.

JFAT is excited to get involved with the local Dana Point community - look for their grand opening to take place in late summer.

Relay For Life participants and donors remember loved ones lost to cancer and honor those battling the disease by dedicating luminaria. Luminaria, paper bags containing votive candles, are transformed and illuminated after dark at every local Relay For Life event. Each luminaria is personalized with a name, photo, message or drawing in memory or honor of a friend or loved one who has been affected by cancer. Luminaria can also be dedicated in support of a Relay participant.
