Plymouth Planning Commission Hearing
City of Plymouth to become more energy efficient

On February 5th, 2015 the City of Plymouth will take a major stride toward becoming more energy efficient. On that date the Planning Commission will review the recently released "Plymouth Energy Action Plan", a strategy document developed to assist the City in becoming more energy efficient. The document is available for review at the City offices (9426 Main Street), or, upon request, a PDF can be emailed to you - just contact City Planner Martti Eckert at [email protected].

The plan contains goals, strategies, and concrete actions to implement the strategies. There are five focus areas:
- Energy use in existing structures
- Energy use in new construction
- Renewable energy
- Energy use in municipal operations
- Water conservation

Preparation of the energy plan is a collaboration between the City and Sierra Business Council (SBC). The work comes at virtually no cost as part of Pacific Gas and Electric Company's (PG&E) Government and Community Partnerships Program, which is funded by California utility customers and administered by PG&E under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.

Under this program SBC has conducted 46 greenhouse gas inventories for Sierra Nevada jurisdictions, seven of which are also developing energy efficiency plans, including Plymouth, Jackson, Amador County, Sutter Creek, Loomis, Nevada City, and Mariposa County.

Please come and share your thoughts about the Plan and the City's intention to become more energy efficient. This plan is intended to not only save energy but money for the community and your support is greatly valued.
