FRN Committees Formed To Enhance Quality Services/Supports

In an effort to ensure the quality of services/supports provided by the agency FRN now has a Human Rights and a Behavior Supports Committee.

FRN is committed to providing quality supports and protecting the rights of all the people supported by the organization. Oversight and monitoring of situations that may appear to be rights violations is the responsibility of the newly formed Human Rights Committee (HRC).

    Brief overview of HRC responsibilities:

The FRN Human Rights Committee acts as an advisory body to the Executive Director on issues directly or indirectly related to affecting the rights of the individuals served by the agency.  Any reported incidents will be reviewed by the committee and recommendations of the committee made to the ED.  The committee also needs to be proactive and preventative in making recommendations on procedures that safeguard the rights of the individuals served.

Every employee of FRN is responsible for ensuring that the rights of the people supported by FRN are protected and therefore everyone is able to submit concerns or issues to the HRC. Details on the process will be distributed soon. Liza Gundell is the HRC Chairperson, any immediate issues or concerns may be directed to her through email.

    Behavior Supports Committee:

FRN is committed to providing the highest quality behavior supports when needed to people receiving services from the agency. Oversight and monitoring of behavior support plans being implemented by agency staff is the responsibility of the newly formed Behavior Supports Committee.

    Brief overview of committee responsibilities:

The Behavior Support Committee acts as an advisory body to the Executive Director for review of behavior support plans developed and implemented by the agency and making judgments about the appropriateness of those plans.  The committee also makes recommendations on any other behavior management issues that may be referred for review.

All committee meetings are scheduled quarterly or as needed if emergent issues arise.
