A Historic Announcement

The Wake Forest University School of Divinity has a received a $2 million gift from Jeanette Wallace Hyde, a life trustee who served as a U.S. Ambassador, to support student scholarships and financial aid. It is the largest commitment to scholarships by an individual in the School of Divinity's history.

Lockers Available | Did you know that there are lockers available in Wingate Hall for divinity students to use?  These lockers are located in the hallways near the stairs and elevator in the the lower auditorium.  The cost to rent a locker is just $5, which covers your entire time at the divinity school. If you are interested in renting a locker, please see Mary Ellen Walter in Wingate 116.


Wake Div Merchandise On Sale Now | School of Divinity merchandise will be available for sale each Wednesday during Coffee Hour, from 11:00 - 12:00 in the lower auditorium.  Items available include short and long-sleeve t-shirts, sweatshirt hoodies and window decals. Cash or check only.

  

 

 

Mosaic Gathering - Monday, September 30, 8:00pm - The Polo Div House | Student group Mosaic invites all to this bi-weekly unwind event for a brief arts-based devotion, fellowship, and craft time as a group. For more information contact Megan Snider or Caitie Smith.  

 

 

Intramural Flag Football | Men will play at 9pm on Monday. Co-Rec will practice Monday at 10:00pm, and play Thursday at 8:00 and 10:00pm. All games and practices are at the Water Tower Fields (near the University Parkway campus entrance). Please come out and support our teams! 
 
 
 
World Communion Bread Bake-Off - Tuesday, October 1, 7:00pm - Home of Patti Parker | To celebrate the breaking of the bread on World Communion Day, student group Mosaic is sponsoring a Communion Bread Bake-Off! We will be baking an assortment of communion breads which will be used during chapel at Thursday's community worship. All breads are welcome, especially those representative of other cultures. Financial Assistance Funds Available | The School of Divinity offers two financial resources to help students: Stealey's Purse for students in emergency financial situations and Student Academic Conference Grants to attend academic or denominational conferences. Life After Death: The Day of the Dead in Mexico at the Museum of AnthropologyMOA's annual exhibit includes new information with sections about the celebration's history and its unique folk art. The centerpiece is a traditional Mexican ofrenda: a home altar with sugar skulls, colorful tissue paper cutouts, food and beverage offerings, marigolds, and photos of deceased relatives to honor the dead. A children's ofrenda and a digital photo essay illustrating different aspects of the celebration are also on display. Text is in English and Spanish.

Admission is free. Exhibit runs through December 13.
