Greetings!

Ernestina looks GREAT!  A lot of work was done under the winter cover by DCR staff, the masts have been stepped and the summer interpreter is on the job.  Stop by and say hi.

The Masts are UP!

On May 31 one of  N.C. Hudon's cranes arrived at State Pier. The masts were ready, Leon Poindexter's and his crew were ready. By the end of the day Ernestina  was even closer to sailing again.  Follow the photo story ...

SoCo Blueways Kick-Off at AHA!

AHA logo june
Visit us at the Whaling Museum Jacobs Gallery for the partner's showcase for the NEW SoCo Blueways Kickoff.
The Whaling History Alliance alongside a number of local partners has begun an effort to create a nationally recognized water trail right here in the Southcoast. In an effort to gain support and publicize the many organizations who already actively program our waterways like Ernestina, they are holding a SoCo Blueways Kick-off Event on June 13th, 2013 at the New Bedford Whaling Museum. The event will coincide with June AHA! night, Portraits of a Port  and will include two portions, a partner showcase fair and a brief speaking portion. The fair will be held in the Jacobs Gallery between 5-7pm and the speaking portion will commence at approximately 6pm, followed at 7 pm by a performance by the New Bedford Harbor Sea Chantey Chorus.
We have been assured they will sing Lovely Ernestina.

Summer Interpreter Appointed
