Greetings!
greetings from our first joint event with the Swedish Chamber of Commerce! We had such an interesting and diverse group of people that we will definitely do more of these in the future. The floor was full of discussions about future business opportunities and happy faces.

Economy in U.S. Expands More Than Forecast on Inventories

Public-private projects could boost economy and add jobs
A ramp-up of public-private partnerships - nicknamed P3s - is expected to boost the economy and generate construction jobs. P3s can save taxpayers money and inconvenience on complex projects such as the I-595 expansion in Broward County, which is expected to cost less and be finished more quickly under private financing. Economist's forecast for Florida: clearing skies
Florida's economy is getting a boost from recovering national housing and financial markets, which are allowing more people to move to the state and also sparking new housing, according to a forecast from a University of Central Florida economist. Read the article here.

Finnish company Uniqul has developed the world's first payment system which recognizes customers' faces. Read more here.
Finland tops the list of bottle-recycling countries
Finns are active collectors of beverage containers. More than 90 per cent of all recyclable bottles and cans are either recycled for reuse or reclaimed for their raw material. Around 6.6 million plastic bottles alone are returned each week. Without recycling, they would form a mountain of waste. Read the article here.

Export University 101: Introduction to Exporting

Export University is a training program developed by the Florida District Export Council in cooperation with the Florida Trade Alliance Partners to help companies begin an export initiative and to gain skills and innovation in their international sales. Delivered by the U.S. Commercial Service, Export 101 is designed for new-to-export firms that would like expert advice on the export basics. Attendees will receive a certificate following completion of this course. This course is ideal for marketing and sales management and staff, export operations personnel, purchasing, logistics, and anyone with a responsibility for export functions.
